 Boys Varsity Head Coach

Coach Wren is in his 1st year of coaching at Eastside High School.  For the past 5 years Coach Wren has been successful as the head boys’ basketball coach at Liberty Middle School in Newton County. 

Coach Wren is an educator originally from Westbury, New York.  He attended Armstrong State College (known now as Armstrong State University) where he played basketball during the 95-96 season.  Coach Wren has been committed to the improvement of basketball fundamentals in Newton County youth.  He has directed a community-based Scholar Shots basketball camp at the middle school level for the past 5 years.  These endeavors and opportunities have assisted in the fundamental development of many Newton county basketball players.

Coach Wren’s basketball philosophy is rooted in fundamental development of skills (offensive and defensive), understanding and commitment to a team concept, respect, and discipline.
